Quick guide to creating your first newsletter

ePublisher is a blank canvas for you to create visually interesting newsletters. Experiment with different types of content, elements (video, links, quotes etc.) and formats to see what your parents love.

There are 6 stages to producing your first eNewsletter.

Stage 1 – Creating your Articles

An article is content related to a specific topic or area:

  • From the Principal’s desk
  • Classroom News
  • Sports Day
  • Topic of the Week e.g. Bullying No Way, Life Education etc.

Important: All article headings become part of the table of contents in the final newsletter so that the reader can click and jump to articles they have interest in.

Articles are created using a variety of content elements:

Tip: Content creators and administrators can create and edit their own articles for inclusion in an eNewsletter issue by selecting different elements.

Later these articles can be easily grouped to create newsletter issues.

Stage 2 – Calendar of Events

ePublisher has 3 options for displaying your calendar of events using the calendar feature:

  • Located under the menu option in the newsletter
  • As a widget on the right-hand side of the newsletter
  • As an embedded article

Embed your calendar directly into your eNewsletter as an article. Parents are then able to print a copy of the calendar and/or add relevant events directly to their personal devices.

Stage 3 – Queuing your Articles

When all your articles have been created and you are ready to add them to your newsletter. It is now time to Queue your articles (Link to article).

Stage 4 – Creating your Newsletter

An issue is made up of a group of articles. Within an issue Admins can reposition, edit, add new or remove articles.

Stage 5 – Proofing your Newsletter.

ePublisher allows you to make live inline proof edits. If you have a second person who needs to preview and proof the newsletter before submission, they are able to login to ePublisher at the same time and make the proofing changes directly to the school newsletter.

Stage 6 – Submit to Austnews

Austnews will deploy your newsletter within the 4-hour time frame.
