Creating a Text Block
The Text Block is an easy to use online text editor that allows you to copy & paste text and links from various sources. It also enables you to create tables, upload images and place them within your text for a richer, more visually appealing experience for your readers to enjoy.

Insert a text block subheading, this is optional.
You will also notice that there is a dotted red line in the text block, this tool is used to insert paragraph breaks, such as after a table or image.

Copy & paste from Word
The Text Block allows you to Copy and Paste from an external source such as Word or email, however doing so will strip the styling, this is to ensure a smooth transition.

Text Alignment
To align your text left, right or centre. You can choose to either highlight your text with your cursor, or CTRL and A on your keyboard to select all. The content should highlight blue indicating that you can now select the alignment option.
In the menu on the left, you will see the 4 aligning options.

A = Left aligned
B = Centre aligned
C = Right aligned
D = Justified
Click on the option according to your preference.
Bullet Points
Bullet points are used to draw attention to important information within a document so that a reader can identify the key issues and facts quickly.

To insert bullet points into your content, highlight the text that the bullets points are to be applied to.

Click on either the bullet point or the numbering option, this will depend on the type of information you would like to draw the reader’s attention towards.

Content Styling
Style elements are what you use to give emphasis to your content. The default font used in ePublisher is Arial 12, studies have shown that on a computer screen, readers find Arial much easier to read. This does not mean that you cannot change the font style, size, format or colour of your content.
To the left of the text block editor is the menu to make changes such as above.

To apply any of the 7 font styles or background colour, highlight the text you wish to amend and click on the option from the menu.

Using colour in your newsletter/articles is a proven way of attracting the attention of the reader. Highlighting sections of your article means important information will stand out and have a greater chance of being read and remembered.

Inserting Images
There are 5 options available within the text editor when it comes to inserting imagery. Included in these options are text wrapping with aligned images.

Once you have imported your image/s, they will appear in the folder all image files, unless you have specified a folder in particular.
Adding a caption to an image


Now that your image is in place within the text block, you can choose to edit your image or remove the text wrap option and have the image placed above the text content.
To do this, click on the image. A menu will appear on the right of the text block. Also by using this menu, you can apply several image edits such as frames, memes and much more.

The image editor is an add on feature which enables you to make changes to your imagery such as Rotate and Flip.

2 Column or 3 Column Images
From within the images menu list, there are 2 additional options to insert 2 column and 3 column images. By using one of these 2 options, your images will automatically constrain to the width size of 728px which is the maximum width of a newsletter, ensuring that all images appear in a well aligned and clean format.

Inserting/Creating a table
Tables are a great tool to either align text or showcase awards. A table can also be used to align text without having the table showing, to do so simply set the border size to 0.

You can now add your wording to the table, such as dates to remember, student awards and so on.
Adding colour to your table
Adding colour to your table is a great way of drawing the attention of the reader to important information, such as dates, guidelines and more.
You can choose to add colour to a single cell or across the column or row.

Links
Creating a link in your content within a text block is a way of directing the reader to an external source, for example, web page, email address or downloadable document/file.
This feature also gives you the ability to customize the directing text within the content.

File Manager
Manage your files efficiently and easily using the ePublisher File Manager to name, store and handle files, such as .pdf and .jpg that help make up your eNewsletters and eNews Flashes.
To access or upload an image or file into your File Manager, click on the File Manager icon in Text Block element screen.

The File Manager window will then appear on your screen.

All images which you copy from an external source such as word and paste into the text block, will be automatically saved within all image files and named as image(1) and so on.
The best way to manage your files and images in the file manager is to create folders and supply images with names. This will assist you in locating the image or file in the future, as well as ensuring your file manager does not become unmanageable as you move forward with your newsletters.

Creating a subfolder

To upload images to this folder, click on Upload and you will be directed to your local drive.

Select the image/s to add to your sub folder. If there are more than 1 image, hold CTRL down on your keyboard and select the images using your mouse and click Open.
The images are now transferred to the folder in the File Manager.

Once the images have been uploaded, you can choose to Rename, Edit, Download or Move your image by either selecting the image and selecting an option from the top menu
